Between us we have travelled in 12 countries on our own time — Spain, Italy, France, Croatia, Montenegro, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, the Gambia, Kenya, the Dominican Republic and Grand Turk.
Which means we have also been the group standing in the wrong queue, waiting for a guide who never appeared, holding a ticket that turned out not to include the thing we came for. That is not an abstract problem to us, and it is the reason somebody from our team is standing at the gate of the Memorial when you arrive.
